The Energy Agency of Plovdiv (Bulgaria) mentors about finance for private buildings the mentees of the municipality of Pétfürdö (HU) and of two energy community-based organizations - Community Works (UK) and the "Energy Communities Tipperary Cooperative" (IE). Two steps were carried out on 21 June and 17 July 2019 to learn on each other, identify the learning objectives and set the learning focus of the study visit.. +Mentors' Corner
During Step 3, the mentees visited the Energy Agency of Plovdiv to learn about smart finance for private buildings on the 17th and 18th of September 2019 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. These two-days training offered the opportunity to learn from the long-lasting experience of the EAP in the field of energy efficiency, renewables, smart cities, energy education and research & development. Prospect’ mentees were exposed and benefitted from the practical knowledge provided on smart finance for building, monetizing the future of smart buildings, and RES solutions for energy poor households. With a cutting-edge approach, EAP complemented the training with a demonstration of thermographic imaging of built environment via the use of a drone for monitoring energy consumption in buildings and make residents aware of the thermal conditions of their homes.
Replication/Transferability
During Step 4, 14th October 2019, participants discussed the transferability analysis, while for the mentees based in UK the application of financial framework couldn’t be applied it was interesting to learn on the common challenges regarding private buildings. For the municipality of Pétfürdö the tools presented by EAP were considered very relevant to apply especially in relation to energy poverty at local level in Hungary.
